After the call in January 2012, more than 20 companies expressed their interest in becoming  partners with the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reached agreements and signed contracts with seventeen companies. Total support for the Presidency amounts to over EUR 0.6 million.

Biggest partners with the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council

Krasta Auto, established 20 years ago, is a pioneer in Lithuanian car dealerships. It is an authorised representative of BMW and MINI for Lithuania, providing the selling and maintenance of new BMW and MINI cars, as well as BMW motorcycles. The company will gratuitously provide 180 new BMW cars during the Presidency.

ORLEN Lietuva operates the only petroleum refinery in the Baltic States, crude oil and petroleum product network, and marine oil terminal. The company generates the highest revenue in Lithuania; and is one of the largest exporters and major tax payers in the country. ORLEN Lietuva will gratuitously fuel the car fleet of the Presidency.




Birštono mineraliniai vandenys & Co (dating from 1924) produces three types of natural water (Vytautas, Birutė, and Akvilė). These waters are extracted from 125 m and 50 m wells located in the Birštonas regional park of the Nemunas loops. During the Presidency, the company will gratuitously supply mineral water in Lithuania and Brussels.

Baltic Data Center provides data centres and integrated IT management services, established in 2001 and recognised as one of the best IT service providers in Europe. The company, part of the TEO LT AB group, provides international-level services reducing IT costs, improving the efficiency of IT and enterprise-wide performance, and managing risk. UAB Baltic Data Center will provide data and backup storage services during the Presidency.

DHL Lietuva, a shipping and warehousing company, part of the Deutsche Post DHL group, provides freight transportation, courier, postal, and logistics services in Lithuania and across the world. DHL is present in over 220 countries and territories across the globe, making it the most international transportation company in the world. During the Presidency, DHL Lietuva will deliver presidency gifts and other parcels representing the country to Lithuanian representations.

Other partners and supporters

G4S Lietuva is the Lithuanian branch of G4S, the world's leading security solution group. The company provides manned guarding, technical security, cash solutions, escorting, package delivery, and vehicle protection services. During the Presidency, G4S Lietuva, the largest and fastest growing private security company in Lithuania, will provide manned security services.

Apiterapijos centras produces health promoting teas and apicomplexes, mixtures of honey and other bee products, made from Lithuanian honey. The honey produced by the company contains no synthetic aromatic substances or chemical preservatives. During the Presidency, Apiterapijos centras will supply honey teas with ginger, thyme and peppermint.

Švenčionių vaistažolės, one of the oldest herb processing companies in the Baltics and Europe, has been cherishing traditions for over a hundred years. The company, with numerous acknowledgements and certificates, offers traditional herbal teas, and develops new products and unique herbal compositions. During the Presidency, Švenčionių vaistažolės will supply black, green and fruit teas and tea gift sets.

Džiugas hard cheese is the only Lithuanian cheese awarded 20 international recognitions and awards.  Both Džiugas cheese and other snacks will be supplied by Žemaitijos Pienas, a leading and innovative Lithuanian dairy processing company.

Skonis ir Kvapas of Lithuanian capital, operating for 16 years, produces delicacies that are an invitation to discover the world’s cultures and traditions through taste and smell. The company will provide the presidency with hand-made almond-, anise- and ginger-flavoured cookies.

Over 200 Lithuanian farmers and small processors, united in the Lietuviško Ūkio Kokybė cooperative, will provide the presidency with home-made bread, ham, traditional Lithuanian sausage (skilandis) and the juice of various local fruits.

Švyturys-Utenos Alus
, the internationally-awarded leading Lithuanian brewery, based in Klaipėda, will provide the presidency with malt kvass free of charge and introduce Lithuanian beer culture.

The company group Alita, AB, which produces the widest range of alcoholic beverages in Lithuania, will provide complimentary energy drinks during the presidency.

The oldest confectionery company in Lithuania, Rūta, which is celebrating its centenary this year, will provide sweets and confectionery during the presidency.

Lietuviškas midus, which makes products awarded national heritage certificates, will provide complimentary non-alcoholic beverages during the presidency.


Mantinga company, manufacturer of frozen bread and cake products, as well as chilled snacks, will supply the Presidency with sandwiches, rolls and pastry, free of charge.

Gerovė canning factory company, a leading vegetable and fruit processing company in the country, will provide the Presidency with jams, spreads and honey, free of charge.


Gubernija brewery, opened in 1665, will supply natural bread kvass for the Presidency period free of charge.


The biggest publishing and book sale group in Lithuania, Alma littera, gave a free subscription of an electronic Lithuanian-English-Lithuanian dictionary to the Presidency team.



To mark the first Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Lietuvos paštas has issued a commemorative stamp with the Presidency logo, and produced commemorative postcards depicting Lithuanian scenery adorned with this logo.


In cooperation with Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, guests of a several informal meetings have the possibility to taste traditional Hungarian wine. More about the co-operation, wine regions and styles can be found here.
