EU Presidency Budget

The national budget has earmarked EUR 61,98 million for the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council for 2012-2014. Lithuania has chosen to hold the Presidency with a very cost efficient budget, and has provided only the necessary funding required to carry out the duties of the chair of the EU Council duly.

In order to ensure the transparent and effective use of funds, the Lithuanian Government approved the Inter-institutional Action Plan for 2012-2014, two years before the commencement of the Presidency, including all the expenditure necessary for a smooth presidency: both joint expenses, such as the installation of IT equipment in facilities for high-level meetings, and de-centralised expenses borne by individual institutions. Presidency Supporters

After the call in January 2012, more than 20 companies expressed their interest in becoming  partners with the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reached agreements and signed contracts with 19 companies:

Krasta Auto, ORLEN Lietuva, Birštono mineraliniai vandenys ir Co, Baltic Data Center, DHL Lietuva, G4S Lietuva, Apiterapijos centras, Švenčionių vaistažolės, Žemaitijos pienas, Lietuviško ūkio kokybė, Skonis ir kvapas, Alita, Rūta, Lietuviškas midus, Mantinga, Gerove, Alma Littera, Gubernija.

Total support for the Presidency amounts to over EUR 0.6 million. Read more
