The first trialogue on the 2014 EU Budget

The first trialogue on the EU budget during the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council took place in Brussels on Tuesday.

Lithuanian Finance Vice-Minister Algimantas Rimkūnas representing the EU Council, European Commissioner Janusz Lewandowski and the Chairman of the European Parliament's Budget Committee Alain Lamassoure discussed the draft 2014 EU budget and the issues related to the 2013 EU budget before the European Parliament's plenary session, which will take place on 9-12 September.

The next trialogue will be held on 16 October 2013.

Timely approval of the European Union Budget for 2014 is one of the priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council.
