The EU waits for Ukraine’s progress in the run-up to the Vilnius Summit

President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with Pat Cox who leads a European Parliament monitoring mission in Ukraine. He has been co-leading the mission together with the former Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski since June 2012.

 

The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Vilnius Summit, Ukraine's progress in implementing reforms that are necessary for signing an Association Agreement, and the issue of the former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. According to the President, Lithuania supports the mission led by Pat Cox and Aleksander Kwaśniewski. 
 
One of the key Lithuanian EU Presidency events - Vilnius Summit - will be held on November 28-29. At the meeting, it is expected to sign an Association Agreement with Ukraine and initial such agreements with Moldova and Georgia.
