On 2-3 September at Vilnius National Gallery of Art, four outgoing Committee of the Regions events will be held, focusing on Eastern Partnership and environmental issues. The attendance is envisaged of Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso, the CoR President, and other members of the CoR.

The first CoR event is the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) Commission meeting, organized on 2 September. At the meeting, issues related to space industry policy, green infrastructure, natural capital fostering, and European plastic waste in the environment strategy will be discussed. Attendees of the meeting will visit Vilnius city heating supply company “Vilniaus energija“ after the meeting.

On 2 September at the National Gallery of Art, the Europe 2020 strategy development conference on the local and regional level on sustainable energy topics will be launched. During the three sessions of the meeting, the effective use of resources and the renewable energy outlook for regions will be discussed. The conference will be attended by the Minister of Environment V. Mazuronis.

On 3 September, Tuesday, the 147th CoR Bureau meeting with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevičius, and Vice Minister of Energy Žydrūnė Juodkienė will be held in Vilnius.

CoR events in Lithuania will be concluded on 3 September by holding the Eastern Partnership of Local and Regional Authorities Conference (CORLEAP) attended by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrius Krivas, and MEP Justas Vincas Paleckis. The conference will focus on local and regional perspectives of the Eastern Partnership, and successful territorial cooperation models will be presented.

The Committee of the Regions, the task of which is to express the local and regional approach to EU legislation, is an advisory body representing the European Union's local and regional authorities. External meetings of the Regional Committee are traditionally held in the EU Presidency country.
