Chief Officers of Plant health gather for Informal discussion

September 9–10 an Informal Meeting of the Chief Officers of Plant health will be held in Vilnius. It‘s a traditional event organized every half year in a Member State holding the EU Presidency with the aim to gather the representatives from the European Commission, directors and their deputies from national Plant protection organizations, experts for a discussion on the most important issues and regulations, provided to the EU Council.

The discussion will focus on the future Regulation on protective measures against pests of plants, the review and possible evaluation of the lists of regulated pests, Memorandum of Understanding related to the export of potatoes and planting material from the EU to Russia, proposal for a Regulation laying down provisions for management of expenditure relating to plant health.

The Informal meeting will be followed by a good practice example – a technical tour to the wood packaging production and treatment company meeting the highest European quality standards.
